Context
ChatonWarsaw.com is a domain owned by TakeLink. Today it operates as a culinary site with recipes, how-to guides, product comparisons, dinner ideas, desserts, pasta and drinks. In the TakeLink panel, agencies can buy a sponsored article, ranking, or natural brand mention for their client on this domain.
The starting point was very different. We took over an expired domain from a Warsaw restaurant that had closed. Instead of treating it like a typical PBN domain, we checked whether it could be rebuilt as a real, topical content project. The historical restaurant context aligned with food, Warsaw and the intent of users searching for meals, recipes and inspiration.
This is not a case where a few SEO articles were dropped on a domain and we waited for results. ChatonWarsaw.com runs like a normal publishing project: it has a topical map, content rotation, GSC monitoring, Ahrefs analysis and continuous editorial decisions.
Why this domain made sense
With expired domains, the biggest mistake is looking only at DR, link counts or past traffic. A former restaurant domain could only be valuable if the new site kept a logical connection to the previous topic. That is why we did not turn it into a random general magazine. We stayed with food, cooking, the local Warsaw context and content that fits the domain's history.
- the domain history was aligned with the food and lifestyle space
- the domain name still fit a site about food, cooking and inspiration
- the topic offered a long tail: recipes, comparisons, substitutes, dinners, desserts and drinks
- the domain could be useful for SEO agencies working with clients in food, lifestyle, FMCG, travel, local services and e-commerce

Rebuild strategy
The first step was cleaning up the direction. We did not pretend the restaurant was still operating. Instead, we built a new content layer around what users actually type into Google: quick dinners, ingredient comparisons, classic recipes, desserts, pasta, drinks and practical kitchen questions.
Content was planned as topical clusters, not a random list of articles. That way Google sees more quickly that the site has a coherent scope. Articles strengthen each other through internal linking, cover neighbouring intents and let us build authority for the whole domain instead of single URLs.
1. Rebuilding topical authority
We started with topics that naturally connect to home cooking and user decisions: what to cook, which ingredient to pick, how popular dishes differ, how to prepare a specific dessert or drink. We did not chase only the biggest keywords. A large share of growth came from the long tail, because that is where you can recover trust on a refreshed domain the fastest.
2. Continuous pruning of zero-click content
One of the most important rules was that publishing does not end work on an article. We regularly check which URLs do not pull clicks, do not build visibility, or start cannibalising other pieces. Such content is updated, merged with stronger articles, or removed. As a result, the domain does not fill up with pages that drag down the average quality.
3. Reacting fast to GSC drops
We treat Google Search Console as an early warning system. If we see a drop in clicks, CTR or position on an important URL, we check the SERP, intent, content freshness, internal linking and possible cannibalisation. In many cases a quick rewrite of headings, expanded FAQ section or better intent match is enough to stop the drop before it becomes expensive.
4. Organic links and support from our own portals
We grow the link profile carefully. Some backlinks appear organically, because practical cooking guides get cited and linked naturally. Where we need to speed up indexation or strengthen a specific cluster, we add support from our own portals. We do not push it: topical fit, branded anchors, sensible context and a natural rhythm matter most.

| Area | Ahrefs status | Change | What it means for SEO agencies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic traffic | 47K monthly | +25K | The domain has real traffic, so a publication is not a dead link on a PBN. |
| Organic keywords | 3.2K phrases | +1.4K | A wide long tail lets you tailor context to a client, not just buy a random article. |
| Top 3 keywords | 713 phrases | +268 | The site ranks high for many queries, which strengthens the value of brand mentions. |
| Backlinks | 958 links | +183 | The profile grows without sudden spikes and is supported by natural content. |
| Ref. domains | 410 domains | +8 | The domain has a broad base of referring domains, not a single artificially inflated link graph. |
| AI Overview citations | 510 citations | +221 | The content is used as a source in AI answers, which lifts the value of brand mentions. |
| ChatGPT citations | 34 citations | +12 | The domain starts to appear in the ecosystem of AI-generated answers. |
| Perplexity citations | 133 citations | +69 | Visibility is not based only on Google, but also on AI research tools. |
For SEO agencies, the key point is that ChatonWarsaw.com is not an empty domain with metrics. It is an active site that pulls traffic, ranks on the long tail, is monitored in GSC and has content cited by AI tools.
Results after 6 months
Six months after the takeover and rebuild, the domain reached around 50K organic traffic per month. In the latest Ahrefs view, organic traffic was 47K, organic keywords 3.2K, DR 32, backlinks 958 and 410 referring domains. This was achieved without paid traffic and without treating the domain as a one-shot PBN asset.
- 47K organic traffic in Ahrefs, with a +25K month-over-month increase
- 3.2K organic keywords, including 713 phrases in the Top 3
- DR 32 and 958 backlinks
- 410 referring domains and 1.7K backlinks all time
- 510 AI Overview citations, 133 Perplexity citations, 34 ChatGPT citations and 16 Copilot citations
- 0 paid keywords and 0 paid traffic, so the growth is not masked by paid campaigns

In the Ahrefs module, Gemini visibility is sometimes reported differently than manual AI answer testing. That is why we do not rely on a single panel. We check Ahrefs, GSC and manual results in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other tools.
Why this is a valuable place to publish
SEO agencies often buy links on domains that look great in a spreadsheet but have no real life: no traffic, no updates, no meaningful context and no reaction to drops. ChatonWarsaw.com works differently. It is a domain we develop, monitor and continuously prune from content that does not deliver.
Because of that, you can use it in several ways: as a classic sponsored article, a product or service ranking, a brand comparison, an expert mention, or a natural link from a guide article. It works best for clients in food, lifestyle, travel, hospitality, FMCG, e-commerce, supplements, local services and brands that need a Polish context with real traffic.
What worked best
- 1Topical alignment with the domain history. We did not turn the restaurant context into a random general portal.
- 2Content built in clusters. Articles reinforce each other and build topical authority across the whole site.
- 3Cyclical removal of weak URLs. The domain is not cluttered with content that has no clicks or visibility.
- 4Fast work on GSC drops. Every important drop is analysed before it grows into a bigger problem.
- 5Natural link profile. Backlinks come organically or from our portals where it makes topical sense.
- 6AI visibility. The content is cited in AI Overview, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot, and we monitor Gemini answers manually.
“The biggest difference between this kind of domain and a regular placement is the care taken. By buying a publication on ChatonWarsaw.com, an agency uses a site that has traffic, is being developed and is regularly cleaned up from content with no impact.”
Takeaway
ChatonWarsaw.com shows that an expired domain can become a valuable SEO asset if it is rebuilt in line with its history, user intent and a real content plan. Six months in, the domain has around 50K organic traffic, thousands of keywords, growing AI citations and a profile suitable for high-quality publications for agency clients.
If you run an SEO agency and need Polish domains with real traffic, you can use ChatonWarsaw.com for a sponsored article, ranking or brand mention. It is an example of the kind of portals we develop at TakeLink: not just to sell a link, but to make sure the link has context, traffic and a stronger chance of working long term.
